Magics has been selected as the winner of the Voka Lokaal Award Kempen Zuid, recognizing the company's contribution to innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.
The award highlights companies that combine local impact with a clear vision for the future. For Magics, it marks another milestone in a journey that started in the Kempen and today reaches customers and projects around the world.
From the Kempen to Critical Industries
Founded on expertise originating from the local research ecosystem around SCK CEN and KU Leuven Campus Geel, Magics develops radiation-tolerant integrated circuits (ICs) for applications where reliability is essential. Our technologies support systems operating in some of the world's most demanding environments, including space missions, satellite communications, nuclear instrumentation, fusion robotics, and industrial automation.
Building Technology for Harsh Environments
As systems become increasingly digital, the need for reliable electronics continues to grow. At Magics, we focus on solving this challenge by developing semiconductor products that combine performance, integration, and resilience. Our portfolio includes precision timing devices, motor control solutions, imaging technologies, and AI accelerators designed to operate in environments where conventional electronics may not be sufficient.
Recent milestones include participation in international fusion energy programmes, collaboration with leading space organisations, and the deployment of Magics timing technology in space missions.
Rooted in Innovation
One of the reasons highlighted by Voka is the strong connection between Magics and the regional innovation ecosystem.
What began as a technology initiative built on local expertise has evolved into a growing semiconductor company serving customers internationally. At the same time, we remain committed to supporting education, talent development, and technological innovation within our region.
"We are honored to receive this recognition. It reflects the dedication of our team, the trust of our customers, and the strength of the ecosystem that helped us grow from a local initiative into a company operating on a global stage." Said Jens Verbeeck, CEO of Magics.
The Journey Continues
As a winner of the Voka Lokaal Award Kempen Zuid, Magics is now one of the candidates for the Voka Prijs Ondernemen 2026.
While we are proud of what we have achieved so far, we see this recognition primarily as encouragement to continue building technologies that help enable the next generation of space and nuclear systems.
We would like to thank Voka, our customers, partners, and everyone who has supported Magics throughout this journey.
